The NOG and tech conference community is built on trust. But trust requires a safe way to report when that trust is broken. CtxWhisper gives everyone at a NOG or conference — speakers, participants, staff — a voice without risk.

Whether it's harassment at a social event, discrimination in a speaker selection process, or a safety concern on the conference floor — CtxWhisper is the channel that protects the reporter first.

Designed for global NOG events with international support teams. CtxWhisper is integrated directly into CtxEvent — but can also run as a standalone system.

Moderator Review
A designated moderator acknowledges and classifies the report within 2 days. If you provided optional contact info, the Whisper Head can reach you — but only if you chose to enable that.

Resolution & Transparency
Unresolved reports escalate automatically to an Ombudsperson after 7 days. All cases are included — anonymised — in quarterly transparency reports shared with the community.

CtxWhisper separates responsibilities clearly. No single person has full power over a report — ensuring fairness, accountability, and independence at every step.

No IP Address Storage Your IP address is never written to any log file or database associated with your report. The system is designed to make IP tracking technically impossible.

No Account Required You never create an account. You never log in. There is no session cookie tied to your identity. You are unknown to the system from the moment you submit.

Encrypted Storage All report submissions are stored encrypted. Only authorised members of the governance chain (Moderator, Whisper Head, Ombudsperson) can access report contents.

Optional Contact Info — Your Choice You can optionally provide contact information if you want the Whisper Head to be able to reach you. This is entirely voluntary and you choose it explicitly at submission time.

Sysadmin-Only Technical Access Even technical access to the underlying report database is restricted to system administrators, and is subject to the same audit logging as all other admin actions in CtxEvent.
